Jonas Müller

«I want to create the necessary basis for decision-making in order to use energy efficiently and sustainably. Based on identified and quantified energy efficiency potentials, we can work out the right solutions.»

Jonas works at TEP on empirical studies with a focus on survey implementation and statistical evaluations. He also works on building physics simulations in IDA ICE (e.g. cold and heat load profiles). In doing so, he creates important foundations that are used in other models at TEP.

Jonas holds a master's degree in environmental sciences from ETH Zurich. For his civilian service, Jonas worked at the Institute for Solar Technology and helped to develop a numerical model for heat exchangers in a project for thermal energy storage. Dealing with renewable energies, energy technologies, energy systems as well as statistics and modelling have determined his previous path. Before joining TEP in September 2019, he worked as a research assistant at the University of Geneva in the Renewable Energy Systems Group and wrote a thesis on spatial projections for the diffusion of photovoltaics.

As an active person, he likes to be out and about in nature: on foot, by bike or on skis, on land, in the water or in good company playing tennis or volleyball.
