Marc Melliger

In Memory of Marc Melliger

"The transition towards a sustainable society creates the basis for tackling the climate crisis. A key question is how Switzerland and Europe manage this shift and move toward effective, efficient and carbon-neutral energy use and generation."

It is with great sadness that we say goodbye to our esteemed colleague Marc Melliger.

Marc passed away after a short and serious illness. His death came far too soon and leaves a profound void, professionally, but above all personally.

Marc was an exceptionally knowledgeable and dedicated colleague. With his extensive expertise, analytical mind and deep commitment to a sustainable energy future, he made a significant contribution to numerous projects at TEP Energy. He approached even the most complex questions with care, curiosity, perseverance and a remarkable ability to see the broader connections.

We will miss Marc just as much as a person: his friendly, approachable and easy-going nature, his quick wit and his willingness to support others. Working with him was not only professionally enriching, but also deeply rewarding on a personal level.

Marc was a project manager at TEP Energy, where his work focused in particular on energy demand and efficiency, renewable energy, building services engineering, building energy models and spatial energy planning. In addition to conducting quantitative and qualitative analyses, he also developed tools, databases and applications in these fields. He studied Environmental Sciences at ETH Zurich and completed a doctorate on investment in renewable energy within the European policy support framework. Alongside his academic and professional work, music was his great passion. He played the drums in a funk and jazz band.

We are grateful for the time we shared, for Marc’s work and for everything he contributed to our company and our team. We will continue to build on what he achieved, preserving and further developing it in his spirit.

Our thoughts are with his wife, his family, his friends and everyone who was close to him.

We miss Marc deeply. We will remember him as an outstanding expert, a valued colleague and a wonderful person.
