Physical Building Simulation Models

Physical building simulation models, such as IDA-ICE, quantify and illustrate the relationship between energy and comfort. There are dynamic interaction effects between the various energy applications, efficiency and comfort measures that must be taken into account. How energy is handled in a building has a direct impact on the indoor climate and thus on the comfort of the building users. Thermal insulation and efficient glazing improve comfort on cold days, efficient appliances that emit less heat and good sun protection prevent overheating inside on sunny days.

We transfer the results of these physical building simulation models into our other models (BSMFORECAST and eLOAD) and thus enable consistent sectoral energy modelling.
