Contribution from the IBPSA conference in Rome now available

New article on the potential of shifting cooling loads in office buildings using precooling strategies.

Within the framework of the REFLEX project, TEP Energy analyzed the electricity load shifting potential in office buildings by different precooling strategies. The study which was presented in August 2019 at the International Building Simulation Conference in Rome (IBPSA 2019) is now available online. Highlights of the study are:

  • Results for peak load reduction and free cooling potentials using precooling strategies for different building types, including massive buildings with high thermal mass.
  • Results for cooling potentials using solar electricity especially for sunny regions through increasing cooling demand during sun-rich hours.
